The First Time

Seniors and Graduation Project
I rememeber first semester in public speaking and some of the seniors were talking to us about thier graduation project they were just telling us how when it was time to present in front of the panel how scared they were and nervous and almost felt as if they had forgot everything they had worked on for so long. Our teacher was trying to expalain to them that they had been working for a long time on this so they know the ins and outs of thier topic so they should hace confiedience in what their saying.

Possible topics for my graduation project

  1. police brutality
  2. violence in urban enviorments
  3. negative infulences in the african american culture

Worries and Concerns

I am scared that I will put so much work into my graduation project aqnd it will not have the perfect outcome I imagined. I am also worried that after so much effort I will changed my mind and not want the same topic.

Joshalynn, the good news is that once you select your topic, you don't need to worry about changing it. You may change your ideas about what your final product is, but you will need to keep the topic you select to do the background research on.

As for your topic ideas, I think that you could do a lot with police brutality. Looking into street law, and how young people can know what is and is not legal if they are stopped by police could also be of interest to you. If you decide to investigate negative influences in African American culture, I would suggest that you narrow your focus so that your project looks at a specific influence that you think has negative effects.
